Janice Zimmerman | PRESIDENT
Jan Zimmerman is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, holding a Clinical Supervisor Certifications, C.A.T.S. Certification and RAS II Certifications and has over 22 years of experience in the field of Drug and Alcohol treatment and rehabilitation serving diverse cultures and populations. Her extensive background in revamping flailing established treatment centers as well as supervision, management of mental health personnel and drug and alcohol related programs have allowed facilities to increase their income 10-fold during her tenure. She directly managed and supervised all programs, personnel, services and consumers at facilities where she headed the overall business management and development of each newly established facility. Jan has been instrumental in developing, implementing, and validating all program materials and objectives, motivating staff, establishing regulations and guidelines in compliance with state and federal laws. As a part of her formal and hands-on education, Jan has gained intense specialized training in Case Management, serving Culturally Diverse Populations, Family Systems, and Codependency, Group Dynamics, Alcohol and Drugs in Society, Crisis Intervention, Pharmacology and Physiology of Drugs, Addiction Treatment, Human Sexuality, Perinatal Treatment, and Life Management. In the past, she has served as Executive Director, Program Manager, and Drug and Alcohol Counselor at many notable centers in multiple states. She has 21 years of experience in this field. Jan has a passion for surfing and outdoor activities.

Lena Fancher | FOUNDER & CEO
Lena Fancher is a Certified Drug an Alcohol Counselor, holding a certificate through CADACi and has worked in the field of recovery for the past six years. Lena started her career specializing in the operations of several prestigious treatment centers. She decided to return to school several years ago to increase her knowledge of addiction along with earning her certification. She has been a life long outdoor lover with expertise in snowboarding, surfing, mountain climbing, hiking. Lena implemented and developed a Wilderness Program to encompass her skills in both sports and addiction treatment. She is the founder and owner of Lotus Place Recovery. Lena brings exuberance and mindfulness along with her own personal experiences to help other people achieve sobriety as well as happiness in their lives through action.

Heidi Wells, LMFT #49085 | CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Heidi Wells is the Clinical Director and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Lotus Place Recovery. Heidi brings expertise in the area of trauma, substance abuse, dual diagnosis, PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders. Heidi has worked with clients in a variety of treatment settings, including residential and intensive outpatient clinics, non-profit organizations, and private practice in Berkley, Oakland and Southern California. Heidi received her Masters in Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in 2007 and has been working primarily with clients in the acute trauma and substance abuse population bringing a holistic and mindfulness approach to her practice while using a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-based therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic and relational therapy. Heidi is also certified in Expressive Art Therapy providing effective and unique non-verbal ways for clients to process underlying core issues and trauma. Heidi is a freelance painter and artist holding exhibitions in both San Francisco and Oakland. She is also a passionate writer and author of hundreds of articles focusing on issues related to positive mental health and relationships. Heidi believes we all have the capacity to heal and grow no matter what the circumstances are, and view healing as an international journey.

Barbara Phillips | CASE MANAGER
Barbara Phillips serves as a Case Manager for Lotus Place Recovery. She has an Associates Degree in Human Services and has worked in the drug and alcohol treatment field for over 25 years in a number of capacities. Barbara has multiple certifications including Anger Management Professional, Registered Addiction Specialist and Relapse Prevention Specialist. She brings a true sense of passion in her work and believes that an effective drug rehab environment must always take into account the patient’s individual clinical and lifestyle needs. Barbara is without question among the key ingredients as to why Lotus Place Recovery sees such astoundingly high success rates among its graduating treatment clients. She has many passions which include spending time with her grandchildren, writing poetry, hiking and living a healthy and holistic lifestyle

Ashleigh Lyons | Director of Operations
Ashleigh Lyons is a Registered Recovery Worker and serves as the Director of Operations for Lotus Place Recovery Center. She has years of experience in the substance abuse and mental health treatment field and loves taking an active role in helping other individuals on their road to recovery.
Ashleigh’s favorite activities outside of work include Netflix marathons, taking long afternoon nap and going to some of the many beautiful beaches in and around the Orange County, CA region. She is an enormous contribution to the Lotus Place Recovery staff and we consider ourselves fortunate in having her on our team!

Helene Mickey Wilson, Ph.D., LMFT #49203, | Group Facilitator
Dr. Mickey Wilson, Ph.D., LMFT, has a long history of helping others. She started her psychotherapy career at a small clinic in Oceanside, California (just south of Orange County), where she became known as a client’s rights advocate – going above and beyond to ensure appropriate care for her clients. Dr. Mickey is highly regarded for her knowledge in guided imagery and counseling skills, and is well respected by mental health and addiction treatment industry colleagues who view her as a valued resource.
Dr. Mickey is a licensed psychotherapist in the State of California, she holds a Doctorate of Holistic Counseling from the University of Sedona, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Northeastern. She is a proud member of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT) the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (AAMFT) and she has been a Mentor for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) for the past several years.
Jessica McDonald, Psy.D., MFTi #80737 | Group Facilitator
Dr. Jessica McDonald received her training from Antioch University Los Angeles, where she received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. She received her Doctorate in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School for Professional Psychology, where her research focused on the validity of assessment measures and their correlation with patient self-report data. Dr. McDonald is currently completing an a formal 2-year training program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at Wright Institute Los Angeles, focused on deepening her practice of analytic work.
Dr. McDonald’s desire to help people develop internal resiliency and capacity for adaptation in life has drawn her to the work of clinical psychology. Understanding unconscious patterns and motivations can help people make better meaning of their experiences and find greater purpose in life. She works with a variety of issues, including interpersonal difficulties, anxiety, addiction, and trauma. Her professional and personal interests include the intersection of psychology, philosophy, and spirituality as well as institutional health and wellness. Dr. McDonald is a Marriage and Family Registered Intern, MFTi #80737 Supervised by Mickey Wilson, Ph.D., LMFT MFC #49203.
Alley Trantow | Yoga Instructor
Alley Trantow has been practicing yoga since 2009. Receiving her certification in Vinyasa from RA Yoga, Alley brings her talent and passion for helping others find balance in their lives by providing a truly balanced, grounded and holistic experience to her sessions. As a recovered addict gaining sobriety in 2014, Alley believes yoga helped her find the peace she brings to her own practice that inspires personal inquiry and growth to the clients she works with. Clients explore their connection to change and transformation and their ability to connect deeply with themselves while increasing their sense of harmony with their surroundings. Alley is inspired and humbled by her connection with clients and passionate about spiritual growth. Alley believes yoga helps clients face challenges on and off the mat and the wisdom to utilize those experiences as a platform for learning.

Paxton Dickerson | Group Facilitator
Paxton is a Group facilitator/Psych Educator and Therapeutic Personality. Paxton has been working in the field of recovery since 2001 and is cross-trained in multiple areas of addiction treatment. His background includes experience in a detoxification program, sober house management, counseling and as an Executive Director of an Orange County treatment center. Paxton boasts more than 100 informative psycho-education classes that he utilizes to help facilitate his clients in their recovery process. Paxton brings a wealth of energy and excitement to his career as well as his personal life, where he is a loving and devoted father of two beautiful daughters.
